• your account details, NDA status, reading progress and feedback when you participate as an approved beta reader;

• information you choose to provide when contacting Steven Harrison Creative directly.

How information is used

Personal information is used to:

• respond to enquiries and professional requests;
• send reader updates where you have explicitly requested them;
• administer private beta-reading access, verify NDA completion and review manuscript feedback;
• operate, secure and improve the website;

Legal bases

Beta readers and confidential material

Approved beta readers may receive a private website account and links to third-party signing or manuscript-delivery services. Account access, NDA status and submitted feedback are used solely to administer the reading programme, protect confidential material and support editorial development. Beta-reading accounts are not available through public registration.

Reader updates and unsubscribing

Reader updates are only sent after an explicit signup request. To withdraw your request or ask for your details to be removed, email info@stevenharrisonauthor.com.

Cookies, analytics and social content

Essential cookies may be used to keep the website functioning. Google Analytics may collect aggregated usage information where permission has been given through the cookie controls. Embedded or linked Instagram and Facebook content may communicate with Meta services and is also subject to those services' own privacy policies.

Service providers and sharing

Information may be processed by trusted providers that support hosting, email, analytics, security, electronic signatures, controlled manuscript delivery and social-feed functionality, including IONOS, Google and Meta services and the selected NDA and manuscript-delivery providers. Information is not sold. It is only disclosed where necessary to provide the service, protect the website, or comply with law.

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, the provider's contractual and legal safeguards apply to the transfer and handling of that information.

How long information is kept

Reader-list details are retained until you withdraw your request. Enquiry records are ordinarily retained for no longer than 24 months, unless they remain relevant to an ongoing professional matter or must be retained by law. Beta-reader feedback and NDA records may be retained for the duration of the book's editorial development and subsequent rights or publication records. Technical logs are retained according to hosting, analytics and security settings.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your information, request portability, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children, external links and changes

This website is not directed at children under 13. Links to external websites are governed by their own privacy notices. This policy may be updated when the website, its providers or legal requirements change; the date above will show the latest revision.
